SCAM ALERT

The Financial Aid Office has recently received reports from concerned students and families relating to a direct marketing mailing from College Financial Advisory (CFA).  The mailing is addressed to either "(Name of), Christopher Newport University student" or "Parents of (student name)".  This organization is suggesting that you complete their enclosed Student Aid Profile Form to apply for additional available funding and return it to them with you check in the amount of $49.00, and that your financial aid at CNU is "pending".

CNU is NOT affiliated with College Financial Advisory.  We urge students and families to be wary of scholarship search opportunities that charge a fee or guarantee scholarships.

This form is NOT required by CNU.

Our Mission

The mission of the Office of Financial Aid at Christopher Newport University is to supplement the financial means of the student in support of the University’s goals of enrolling and graduating well-qualified students.

To accomplish this mission, the Office of Financial Aid will identify, obtain, coordinate and disburse aid resources in accordance with federal and state regulations, and CNU policies; deliver those funds in a timely and equitable manner; and educate students, their families and the community to encourage informed financial decisions.
